Today was our first day at the hospital here in Migori. The staff was very kind and helpful during our orientation this morning. We did "morning report" then we split up to different areas of the hospital (obstetrics, surgery, pediatrics, medical). I did rounds with Jodee on the medical ward. Then we unpacked the medical supplies we brought from the U.S. after a cup of tea and some butter sandwiches.
After orientation we went to town to pick up a few items then had a nice dinner. We also had a little visitor join us this afternoon. Jeremy is about 12 days old and recently lost his mother. Our neighbor Helen became his new mother. The girls gave me some pointers on how to hold and feed a baby.
